ROC-AUC Curve Analysis

ROC-AUC analysis evaluates how well a score or model distinguishes between two classes by plotting sensitivity against 1 − specificity across all thresholds and summarizing the curve by its area.

How do I evaluate how well a test or model separates positive and negative cases?

ROC curve analysis plots the true positive rate against the false positive rate at every classification threshold, and the area under the curve (AUC) summarizes discrimination across thresholds. It fits evaluating diagnostic tests, risk scores and binary classifiers, where an AUC of 0.5 indicates chance-level discrimination.
