Vector Autoregression (VAR)

Vector autoregression (VAR) is a multivariate time-series model in which each variable is regressed on its own lagged values and the lagged values of every other variable in the system.

How do I model how several time series influence each other over time?

A vector autoregression treats several time series as jointly determined, regressing each on lags of all the variables, and is used for Granger causality tests, impulse response analysis, and forecasting. It fits stationary or differenced series, while cointegrated nonstationary series call for a vector error correction model.
