Vector Error Correction Model (VECM)

A vector error correction model (VECM) is a multivariate time series model for cointegrated variables that captures both short-run dynamics and the speed of adjustment back to a long-run equilibrium.

How do I model short-run and long-run relationships among several cointegrated time series?

A vector error correction model estimates long-run cointegrating relationships together with short-run changes and error correction terms that show how quickly variables return to equilibrium. It fits multiple nonstationary series that the Johansen test finds to be cointegrated.
